Some further consequences of the Kelvin hypothesis

The Kelvin hypothesis predicts unexpected relations between certain thermal quantities which might otherwise be considered independent. It is through such relations that the hypothesis meets its critical test. Some of these relationships, between quantities which are perhaps more easily understood than entropy, are given below without proof.
