  • The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to Evolutionary Computation (EC). This is the FAQ (list of most Frequently Asked Questions) for EC. There is an informational file describing the directory contents, which include both ascii and PostScript (215 Kb compressed) versions of the FAQ.

  • An HTML version of a genetic programming FAQ has been developed by Adam Fraser, and an HTML version of the comp.ai.genetic-programming FAQ is maintained by Mark Kantrowitz.

  • An Overview of Genetic Algorithms by David Beasley, David Bull and Ralph Martin is a two part document series, Part 1, Fundamentals and Part 2, Research topics. Both are in compressed PostScript format.

  • An Overview of Evolutionary Algorithms for Parameter Optimization by Thomas Back and Hans-Paul Schwefel is a review an intercomparison of evolution strategies (ES), evolutionary programming (EP) and genetic algorithms (GA) as probabilistic optimization algorithms. This is a 147 kb compressed PostScript file.

  • An Indexed Bibliography of Genetic Algorithms: Years 1957-1993 is a bibliography compiled by Jarmo T. Alander in Finland. This is a 430 kb document in compressed PostScript format.

  • Genetic Algorithms: A Bibliography by David Goldberg, Kelsey Milman and Christina Tidd is an IlliGAL (Illinois Genetic Algorithms Laboratory) technical report. This report is split into a first part (23 kb) and a second part (160 kb) which combine into a single document.
