X - Santa Monica Civic Center, Santa Monica, CA, Dec. 31, 1985
Notes:
X December 31, 1985 Santa Monica Civic Center Santa Monica, CA John Doe - Bass/Vocals Exene Cervenka - Vocals Dave Alvin - Guitar DJ Bonebrake - Drums Audience Recording - Unknown equipment & generation(but I've got a pretty good idea t hat this, if not from master, is pretty damned close) From my end we've got: CD-r > EAC > FlacFrontend[level 8/sba] I give this one a solid B for overall sound.... for being an aud recording in a New Y ears Eve crowd. Also, I gotta think that the fact that this is Dave Alvin's first gig w/ X makes it w orthy of any collection. Nevermind that they did "I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts". To this day, in the nearly 2 00 times I've seen them, they've not done this as X... as The Knitters? sure.. but not as X... and I've even seen them do "4th Of July" w/ Billy on guitar Disc One 01 - Because I Do 02 - Motel Room In My Bed 03 - Devil Doll 04 - Blue Spark 05 - My Goodness 06 - The New World 07 - I'm Lost 08 - The Once Over Twice 09 - Burning House Of Love 10 - I'll Stand Up For You 11 - Hot House 12 - The Hungry Wolf 13 - Year 1 Disc Two 01 - Watch The Sun Go Down 02 - Real Child Of Hell 03 - Wild Thing 04 - What's Wrong With Me > Happy New Year! 05 - Breathless > Johnny Hit & Paulene 06 - Los Angeles 07 - Love Shack 08 - I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts (dedicated to D.Boon) 09 - Soul Kitchen 10 - Call Of The Wreckin' Ball 11 - Positively 4th Street Enjoy... more to come.
