comments:
Having seen a partial version of this show on dime recently, then later a complete one,
I am posting this version which is from my own FM master tape. This is not the source of
either of the previous posts of this show on dime. I've never posted this before.
This is part of the Mona Lisa's Sister tour, actually this is a back by popular demand
show since Parker had just played the Metro club in Boston about a month before this
show. I think this was near the end of the tour, and this version is the entire concert,
with all the radio announcer encore break and closing commentary, and almost all of the
opening announcer babble.
The only tape flip interruption is between songs, I've spliced it so you may not even
notice it's there since this is a seamless recording (no fadeins/outs).
The broadcast was clean that night, no interference or problems, and my tape has
probably only been played maybe 3 or 4 times since I recorded it so it still sounds
like I recorded it last week. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago... how time flies when,
oh well, even when you're not having fun (and your airplane has no left wing)...
This can be broken with disc 2 staring with track 20, which makes a 74:02 1st disc,
but I recommend starting disc 2 with track 17. Either way will work fine, this recording
is seamless (no fadeins or fadeouts for disc breaks).
Do not sell this recording.
Trade freely and losslessly.

Parliament/Funkadelic
Parliament/Funkadelic - Unreleased Outtakes and Demos, 1973
Notes:
Parliament Funkadelic Unreleased Outakes and Demos Circa: 1973 Source: CDR>EAC>FLAC Quality: C+ These 3 discs contain various tracks recorded by Parliament/Funkadelic around 1973. I obtained these discs in 2000 via a trade. Many of the tracks are instrumentals or alternate recordings of various Parliamnet/Funkadelic songs released in the years following 1973. There some completley different musical arrang ements in these songs and many of the lyrics are completely different than the finnished product. Eddie Hazel, Bootsy Collins, Glen Goins,Bernie Worrell and the Horny Horns are all h eavily featured here as well as the rest of the P-Funk crew. I don't have any onfo as to ho w these were transfered from the acetates, but the quality is still very listenable. There is some noticable hiss and the ocasi onal pop but believe me, this is nothing compared to the ultimate funk bomb that is contained here. This is s ome of the rarest and funkiest P-Funk recordings in exsistance. Enjoy and SHARE MORE P-FUNK! Disc1) 1. Bigfootin (alternate) 2. Eddie and Bootsy Jam 3. Up For the Downstroke (alternate) 4. Parliament/Funkadelic - Anti-Tour, Nov. 6, 1978, DVD
Notes:
Lineage is unknown. DVD is PAL format Video is B/W there are tracking drops every few minutes, but they all temporary and, honestly, no t a big deal considering the extreme rarity of this video. Again, This is an extremely rare show from parliament funkadelic on November, 6 1978 . Its existance was unknown to all of the P tape traders that i have talked with. Th is is from the Anti-Tour, DAMNIT!!!!!! This is from a "smaller" venue in Pasaic NJ, different from the 15,000-seater arenas they were playing at the time. Additionaly, as a huge Junie Morrison fan, I find this video very satisfying. This is a liberated Boot from "Rizzio" who has since been kicked off ebay. He is a V ERY difficult person to deal with and I hope he never comes into posession of video that I require, like this one. However, this tool was the holder of this unbelievab ly rare video and as a true maggot, I held my breath while dealing with this punk-as s-bitch. Now, I share . . . These are Rizzios chapter titles: Intro Uncle Jam Cholly I got Thing, You Got Thing Cosmic Slop Give up the Funk Night of the Thumpasaurus Red Hot momma Into You Standing on the Verge Maggot Brain One Nation Under a Groove Mothership Connection Swing Down, Sweet Chariot Flash Light One Nation (encore) TRT 03:08:58
Parliament/Funkadelic - Jaap Eden Halle, Amsterdam, Dec. 8, 1978, SBD
Notes:
Of course there HAD to be a George Clinton related release on Big 'Fro! The problem was that everything we were finding had either just come out or was due to come out shortly. We tried Bootsy even with the same luck! Then Big P turned up this tape and I sent my friend Tracey in New Zealand the cover art I wanted to use along with ins tructions what to do with it. This is what she came up with and I was very pleased w ith the results. I did my usual sonic tinkering and then off it went to the japanese . --durian1 Parliament Funkadelic 1978-12-08 Jaap Eden Halle, Amsterdam Holland Source:"Afrolicious & The Electric Pussy" Big 'Fro Bootleg (BF-006) Lineage:SBD>CD(Original Silver)>EAC(secure mode/offset correct)>WAV>FLAC(A) 01. Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam - Green Habit Compilation
Notes:
======================================================= GREEN HABIT: A COMPREHENSIVE LIVE PEARL JAM COMPILATION ======================================================= ---------------------------------- v.1.1 compiled on January 27, 2005 Size: 4.54 GB Total Length: 11:55:17 Media required: 1 DVDR and 1 CD-r for data storage, 10 CDs for audio burning ---------------------------------- This project contains 10 CDs worth of live Pearl Jam material. Included in this compilation is a version of every original song they have played live, as well as most of the covers they have performed live. The Pearl Jam community has been blessed over their years with a tremendous wealth of live material. It has come in many forms, from several audience recordings to FM broadcasts to official bootlegs released by the band itself. This project is an attempt to give you the cream of the crop from these recordings. The versions chosen were collectively determined by several members of the Red Mosquito forum (http://www.red-mosquito.de/phpBB2/index.php), a Pearl Jam Web fansite. The process took over half a year to complete in its entirety. Soundboard or FM recordings took priority unless no such recording existed for a certain song. This project was originally distributed on Red Mosquito's sister site, The Sky I Scrape (http://www.theskyiscrape.com/) , via Bit Torrent. The order of the songs on the CDs was determined by the order in which the song was first played live. This is not necessarily the order of which the songs were first released on a studio album. Examples of this include Brain Of J (released on Yield in 1998, first played live three years before on 11/2/1995) and Low Light (also released on Yield in 1998, first played live three years after on 10/21/2001). CD artwork has also been provided for each of the 10 CDs. Each JPG has a symbol and a font that signifies the era of the songs on the CD. ================================================ RULES REGARDING THE TRANSFER OF THIS COMPILATION ================================================ --DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SELL THIS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. --Do not transfer this project in MP3 or any other lossy format. Feel free to compress this any way you want for your own personal use. However, it is too simple these days for a lossy copy to end up being passed off as a lossless one. Several of the tapers whose recordings/mixes appear in this recording have also requested that MP3 transfers do not occur, and it is expected that you respect those wishes. --If you wish to distribute this show via BitTorrent, be sure you have the latest updated copy with matching FLAC fingerprints. This will assist the transfer of the project. The best way to assure this is to preserve a copy of the original FLAC files on a DVDR. --Be sure to copy and paste the contents on Disc 10 (on the CDR) into the main directory on your computer before beginning to torrent the folder. --Be generous and spread the jam! If you are downloading this via BitTorrent, strive to achieve a 1:1 ratio. This can be a challenge with a torrent of this size, but a good way to accomplish this is to leave your computer on overnight or while you are away from the computer. Also, keep in mind that all of us are blessed with broadband connections. If you have a DVD burner, please offer this project for a B&P (blank & postage) to those who are unable to download this via BitTorrent. Red Mosquito has a trading forum in where such offers can be made. ======= UPDATES ======= Since Pearl Jam is always treating us with new songs and covers, this project will be updated as time passes by. v.1.0: --Original Version v.1.1: --Fixed text errors on artwork to discs 4 and 9 --NEW SONG!!!! 109a - The KKK Took My Baby Away (Inglewood 7/14/1998), coming from the newly-surfaced ALD source --Changed artwork to disc 7 to include the above update ================ ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS ================ --The members of the Red Mosquito forum who contributed their knowledge to make this project. --The Sky I Scrape for intially transferring this project, and all the people who generously helped in that transfer. --www.longroad.it for providing the fonts for the artwork. --The tapers and mixers whose work was included in this project, for being the first to spread the jam. --Pearl Jam, for creating some of the greatest music in existence! ======= SETLIST ======= DISC 1: ====== 001 - Comments: Last night of the UK Tour: Atom Heart Mother Goes On The Road, and the last date the
Floyd played in 1970.
This was the fourth and last time 'Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast' was played live, and may be the
only known live recording. APB was also played on 18, 20, and 21 December during the same tour.
An extended version of 'Embryo' and a confusing version of 'Careful', where the screaming starts
before it actually should. All songs are extended versions. All in all, highly interesting for the
real fan.
High end is supressed. Sourced from vinyl, with very little of the normal vinyl noise. Sound
quality is quite listenable.
As compared to the LP RoIO Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, this version of APB doesn't have the
interlude between 'Rise And Shine' and 'Sunny Side Up'. You can hear the edit/cut at the 5:27
mark. Conversely, the LP version doesn't have the exchange between Waters and Gilmour after APB
is finished but before The Embryo begins. Transcription of both sections:
1st Interlude, lasts 4:35, and is missing from A Psychedelic Night: Thuds on a table like the
banging of a heavy jar. Sounds of a lid turning. Laughter (LGH).
Waters: A cup. stirring sounds. LGH.
Waters: That's it?? Is that working? more stirring and LGH. Pause.
Waters: (To audience) - What do you think he s going to do with the sugar? Is he going to
pour it all in the cup...or is he going to use a spoon? LGH. A deep voice from
audience (barely audible) says, spoon! LGH. Pause.
Waters: Or is he going to spoon it all into the cup? LGHLGH. Pause. No...it s just a
joke, but... pause. Thump thump thump. LGH.
Waters: (Inaudible) it's not going to well out here, boys.
Voice from audience: Turn it on! to which the rest of the audience moans, Aughh.. pause
.
Waters: Mmm....AUGH! Rubbish. LGH. Pots/pans banging on a table. LGH. Stirring.
Waters: Oh, this is pretty disgusting, isn't it? It's hardly music. Pause. Sound of a
guitar lead being plugged in (?). Inaudible remark from audience member. LGH.
Intro to Sunny Side Up.
Exchange between songs that is missing from the LP RoIO Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast: Roger
tuning his bass (more laughter for this, too!) to Rick s organ. When he's done he whispers,
one, two...one...then abruptly stops.
Waters: Are you together? Either Nick or Rick trying to get Dave's attention. Dave!
Waters: Dave?
Gilmour: What?
Waters: Are you together?
Gilmour: Not yet...hang on a minute. Dave starts tuning his guitar and you can hear
Rick turn off the Binson Echorec channel hooked up to Dave's guitar (CLICK Click
click click...). Dave's still tuning...after a while of this he plays a cord,
it sounds alright, but then he stops. Silence...
Waters: Are you together? No response...
Waters: It's okay, Dave. I mean it's no hurry.
Offstage voice: Right [Wright?], are you ready?
Waters: And it's only five past eight. I mean we only started about half past seven.
I mean we have to have one number. LGH. I mean you can take as much time as you
want, mate. I mean that what I mean [standing it?]. Do carry on.
Voice from audience: Go ahead, Joe. Pause.
Gilmour: We'll jolly well go then. [inaudible] can you please set the volume on this
mike, eh? Pause. One two, one two, OONNEE TWWOOO...much better.
Waters: Are you together?
Gilmour: Not very, but we ll go anyway.
Waters (to Gilmour): Okay then inaudible.
Gilmour: Okay more inaudible. Great.
Waters (to audience): It may take some time this evening because everybody's in festive
mode, but we will do it all in the end. And we'll start now. And this is...ah...
this song is called 'The Embryo'. Applause.

Comments: Source 1 of 2. Another stellar show, excellent sound. This comes
from the 1st generation tape of the great performance in Rotterdam.
This is Pink Floyd at their best! It has less hiss than other tapes commonly in
circulation. SQ is easily VG+ or EX-. Except where noted below, it includes
complete and sometimes rather lengthy tuneups between tracks. I really like this
concert since it includes Pictish rants during 'A Saucerful Of Secrets'. The
concert itself is also quite long with some interesting jams and gong bashing!
This is an essential roio. Any "serious" Pink Floyd collectors should have this.
Disc One:
- 'STCFTHOTS' - Very minor break in the master tape at 14:45.
- There is an extended tuneup session after 'Cymbaline', which I have split as a separate track.
Disc Two:
- 'ASOS' - There are 10 seconds missing from the end of Roger's pre-break announcement. The few
missing words are found on the ROIO "The Band Who Ate Asteroids For Breakfast." Roger has a
chance to let loose with a short Pictish rant.
- 'Atom Heart Mother' - Complete with brass and choir conducted by Jerry Mitchell.
Pink Floyd - "Meddled," Paris Cinema, London, Sep. 30, 1971, FM
Notes:
Meddled Harvested CDR 001 Paris Cinema, London, England September 30, 1971 Here it is, the infamous Meddled ROIO, feverishly sought after by Floyd fans wanting to hear what Meddler was supposed to sound like before being mistakenly editted to mono. It came from an FM broadcast over the BBC in England. The stereo dimension adds so much to the recording, you can actually hear very distinctly what each band member is doing. This ROIO is just an incredible listen from start to finish. The sound is amazing as is the performance of the Floyd. Fat Old Sun never sounded better. It is important to note, Embryo and Blues came from a different original source I believe. You can read all about this title (and Meddler) at the following URL: http://www.pf-roio.de/roio/roio-cd/meddler.cd.html Setlist is as follows: 01 Fat Old Sun 15:29 02 One Of These Days 7:31 03 Echoes 26:35 04 Embryo 10:05 05 Blues 4:56 One of the best Floyd ROIO's ever made, bar none. Sit back with a nice big fat one and enjoy the music.

It's one of the first concerts of 1973, it includes Childhoo d's End and it's a major upgrade compared to the other releases. The sound is VG/VG+ and there is a major speed problem on One Of These Days (runs way too fast). This i s worth having just for the nice version of Childhood's End! Highly recommended to a ll. Quite a bit of care and cleanup has taken place to lower the number of known glitch es on the Rev 0 release from 51 to 13 on disk 1 and from 77 to 13 on disk 2. Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Raving And Drooling (Sheep), and You've Got To Be Crazy (Dogs) were unreleased at that time and the latter two especially were prototype pei ces during this tour. Sheep and Dogs wouldn't appear in a studio form until about 3 years later. This was also the debut tour for Mr. Screen (the big circle screen that Dave got to keep in the Pink Floyd 1987 LTD. settlement) and you can hear the audience reacting to the images being displayed at certain points during the show (mostly during the e nd of DS0TM).

About the TSPDP09 ProjeKct:
Why a new version of the November 16, 1974 Pink Floyd concert at the Empire Pool, Wem
bley?
Despite the fact that a great number of different audio sources exist for this concer
t, none of them seems to be as good as required.
Although the 'PreFM Master' source is, to my knowledge, the best one available, it su
ffers from various audio flaws like:
- presence of noise (hiss and clicks) and saturation,
- wrong speed,
- signal drop-out and stereo image losses,
- <91>parasite<92> signal on <91>On The Run<92> (end) and <91>Time<92> (beginning),
- wrong equalisation and dynamics of the audio signal.
The restored version proposed here, mainly based on the 'PreFM Master' source, is an
attempt to correct, as far as possible, these
different flaws.
First, all the kind of noises have been removed and a correction of the speed, based
on the BBC6 2003 broadcast, has been applied.
Then, most of the signal drop-out and saturation have been attenuated.
Concerning the so-called <91>parasite<92> audio source (that you can still hear at 04
:08 from the beginning of <91>On The Run<92>) this one
has eventually been masked by the add of the clock 'tick-tock' that is listenable on
the BBC6 2003 broadcast previously mentioned.
The crowd noise has been added at the beginning of the show by reference to what you
can ear on the <91>Completely Brain Damaged
Vol.3<92> bootleg.
During the making off this project, another source containing a very good audio quali
ty of <91>Echoes<92> emerged from sharing communities,
I decided to include this number in this project. Although a doubt remains concerning
the origin of this source (mp3 sourced?), I chose
to preserve this piece because of the historical nature of the performance (sax and f
emale voices).
Finally, an equalisation and a modification of the dynamics were applied to the whole
of the project in order to obtain a good final mix.
The best efforts were produced in order to obtain similar sounds for <91>DSotM<92> an
d 'Echoes'.
Because of the lack of source of equivalent audio quality for the other played titles
on this day ('Shine On You Crazy Diamond',
'Raving and Drooling' and 'You've Gotta Be Crazy'), these ones were not included in t
his project. If someone could provide a very
good recording of these tittles I would be delighted to provide an add-on for the TSP
DP09.
Although this anniversary edition is not totally flawless (is an official release wil
l surface some day?), I hope that you will enjoy this
new remastered version of this Pink Floyd performance.

Last but not least, I would like to specially thank <91>Tattieboggle<92> for providin
g the BBC6 2003 broadcast of this show.
Shine On.

Pink Floyd - Detroit Diamonds, Olympia Stadium, Detroit, MI, Jun. 24, 1975
Notes:
Venue: Olympia Stadium, Detroit, Michigan Date: June 24th 1975 Title: Detroit Diamonds Lineage: Aud/Rec1 > 1st gen > CDR > ACL2005 > WAV > EAC > FLAC Length: 119:47 SQ: EX- (G+ VG- VG VG+ EX- EX EX+ SUP- SUP) Remaster of recorder1 version called "Detroit 1975", (NOT CSP remaster). The 1st ge n versions of this recorder have quite strong SQ but had numerous issues that needed attention. I liked the performance of this show and felt it deserved the attention. Approximately 4 mins of repeated segments at the ending and beginning of many tracks . Many digi-pops, clicks, mic thumps and some tape flips etc. Also a high frequency buzz that was prominent in about half the reco rding along with suttle level and SQ changes throughout. I was able to get many good isolated buzz samples to address the segments that conta ined background buzz. A diminished buzz is now prevalent only during quiet sections, eg Speak To Me, Us and Them. No NR used on buz z free segments. There are no traces of NR. Eliminated or reduced most of the digi-pops/clicks and mic thumps and smoothed tape flips. Also segmented the show into several dozen relavent sections in order to apply diffe rent amounts of EQ, output levels, and buzz reduction. Kept Dark Side Of The Moon together on Disc 2. Created artwork with track listing a nd times. Although, as usual, it took much longer than I originally thought, IMO it was worth it. It has good editing, output level, and SQ continuity now and sounds clearer and warmer than "Experimental Energy" Little Pieces

Notes: From a "millionth generation" cassette bought in Argentina some 17
years ago by our friend Alejandro. For some reason this recording has not
been heavily circulated, and is shrouded in mystery. We have no legitimate
doubts as to the authenticity of this recording. It appears to be from a
working set of demo tapes that were used as the actual blueprint for The
Final Cut -the last album that Pink Floyd would release with Roger Waters
in the lineup. In some places the difference between this and the actual
release are subtle, and in other places, the differences are quite stark,
changing the overall tone of some of the meanings inferred from the actual
release. We won't be listing all of the differences here, so you can enjoy
your own personal exploration of this work in progress.
Free Range Pigs is releasing this volume for it's historical significance.
While the sound quality is not "disappointing", the recording does "show it's
age" in some places. We're not exactly sure, but it sounds as though this was
recorded in a professional studio, so it is very likely that somewhere in this
big world, a sonically superior copy exists.
Credits: Jim Canale and Free Range Pigs would like to thank the following
people for their contributions to this effort:
Alejandro Gibaut for graciously providing the Source Recording.
The Pentagon Pig for providing Quality Assurance Services.
Aleksi Manninen for providing the Cover Art.
NOTE: A very nice release by FRP, but rather fast. I speed corrected this
release, Repackaged with FLAC using TLH. [Spectre].

Comments from ROIO Database:
Comments: Just another DSoTM RoIO? No, this one - containing one of the very first
DSoTM preformances -
is in fact, a historical recording! For example, the instrumentals that form On The
Run, The Great Gig
In The Sky and Any Colour You Like are completely different and very interesting. S
ome tracks are badly
cut: Us And Them is reduced to under three minutes, Time has ben chopped too, and t
he end of Eclipse is
faded out! However - thanks to the digital nois reduction system NoNOISE - the soun
d quality is very good;
so listening to this CD is a real pleasure. In my opinion, any collection of Pink F
loyd CDs is incomplete
without this. -TAP (#50)
On The Run jam & Great Gig w/preachers. Time abridged at 3.33. Us & Them abridged a

A great recording, absolutely no tape hiss evident. Only drawback with this one, is
that Time and Us And
Them is cut a bit, and that Eclipse is faded out a little early. -TOR
Excellent sound quality, possibly from the soundboard. This CD presents the pre-rel
ease version of Dark Side
of the Moon, which contains the original versions of On the Run and The Great Gig i
n the Sky. Other compositions
are also slightly different from their Dark Side counterparts. -ECM
============================================================================
This historical recording captures Dark side of the
moon in its earliest stage.
No other recording available from the jan/feb 72
tour (in which dsotm was first performed)
sounds as good as this.
It has one ugly flaw (still) with the
annoying cuts in Tr. 4, 8 & 11 but the music &
sound is just too good to leave.
This upgrade is by far the best sounding version
of this recording of the few I have ever heard.
Includes artwork, made with great care.
You need this, average fan or diehard.
Enjoy,

A note from the Prof.:
Today, 34 years and a couple of days after this was first recorded,
I present to you all a significant digital upgrade -maybe even
the definitive version- of the legendary "The Best of Tour 72" boot.
It KILLS both the "Swinging Pig" and the "Original Masters Series"
bootleg CD's of this album that most of you all know.
These two boots were both taken from the same inferior source
which is ruined by a heavy NoNoise treatment.
This is a trueful reproduction of the original vinyl bootleg and will
make you hear details in the recording that you never heard before.
***About the Original Bootleg***
The content of this CDR has been carefully mastered from a rare
vintage (1972) vinyl copy (strictly rated: EX), the very 1st
pressing of this classic floyd bootleg, and therefore the closest
source to the (unfindable) original tape.
The recorded content of the original LP was handled professionally
from start to finish (not counting the cuts in the recording).
The sound is beautiful. A very wide stereo image with clear
separation of instruments & voices. There is little hiss or distortion.
The unmastered source that the bootleggers used must have been
0th or maybe 1st generation tape.
The original pre-vinyl tape has had a mastering treatment with a
compressor, Dolby(A) and likely some EQ-ing.
The vinyl itself is nice and thick, made to last.
This could very well have been pressed at a pressing plant which
was used by major record company's as well.
As you can read in Clinton Heylin's excellent book
"Bootleg! The Rise and Fall of the Secret recording industry"
this used to happen a lot in the early 70"s, and it would explain
why the bootleggers were so keen to hide the name Pink Floyd,
even on the record label itself.
Although the pre-vinyl part in the source info chain is speculated,
it's 100% certain that this is NOT a soundboard and/or FM.
Ever since this came out, the SQ has led people to believe it is.
Even the above mentioned book, erroneously stated this was
taken from a BBC radio broadcast.
And even to this day, this recording is way more often labelled
as "radio" or "soundboard" than as what it is: "EX audience".
Have a look here to learn more about the countless vinyl
pressings of this legendary bootleg:
http://backtrax-records.co.uk/floydboots/pages/b8.html
(NB: A few more details to identify the first pressing:
The record label is dark blue with silver characters and edge.
The matrix number on Side 1 is 16-421 and can be seen both
on the label and also in small characters between the running
grooves. The label says: "We did it for you".
Same goes for Side 2 but the number is 16-422 instead and
the label says: "We did it for you too"
On both sides you can see: "composed and arranged by TOUR 72".
There's no mention of Pink Floyd anywhere.
The only direct sign referring to PF are the tour dates on the
back of the laminated sleeve.
This LP or the 2nd pressing are very much worth the hunt.)
***About the Mastering***
The vinyl was cleaned carefully one hour long using anti-stat.
Because both the SQ of the original recording and the mastering
of the LP are so outstanding, I felt it would be a waste to correct
anything in that aspect.
This means that no further eq-ing or compression has been applied
by me. ObviousIy, I did not use any noise reduction;
the big sin that made the previous (and unfortunately) common
cd(r) versions of this recording sound like poop.
There is a little bit of vinyl distortion hearable, most notably in the
gentle parts during the last 11 min. of Side 2 on the left channel.
It's nothing to write home about but still.
I picked out the biggest clicks by hand and handled the rest
with the excellent 'Waves' Click & Crackle plug-ins.
I corrected the speed of the recording with +0.15 semitones.
I tuned Rick Wright's organ with great precision to an exact A
(440 Hz), bringing down the playing time from 41:13 to 40:52.
I also swapped the channels as heard on the LP to match the
stereo image as much as possible with PF's then stage order;
Dave's guitar & vocal are clearly on the left, the toms are coming
from the left to the floor-tom on the right, (as if you are standing
in front of the drums).
An edit was done to make side 1 run seamlessly into Side 2.
The point where the edit was made can be heard on
both sides of the LP, so not a millisecond got lost.
Enjoy,
Prof. Stoned

This is the 4 th. of my tapes t

on WPIX FM and this is a first generation tape made by me back in 1979 . The date ma
y be off, as I have 9/29/79 and 9/30/79 written on the tape, itself. Maybe the show
went past midnight? Anyway, it's a great recording and it has been re-mastered by S
eriusJoe who has been kind enough to do a bunch of these old tapes for me. He also d
id three other Police NYC area broadcasts for me and if there is any interest I'll p

This tran sfer is a new transfer, not from the cd, but,AFAIK from the same source tape. These are definate ly not outtakes from the Idiot Sessions, but are, without question, the rehearsals for the 1977 tour. I am not sure where the were recorded, but they most probably also stem from video tap e, as David began videotaping his touring bands in 1974 to give them a sense of what they looke d like to an audience.the venue, could, in fact, be the Chateu de Houreville, but it would be a fter the album had been cut. Chuck Prophet
"Chuck Prophet is the least heralded guitar player of the '80s and '90s, with songwriting skills to match his prodigious instrumental talent. Born in the mid-'60s in Southern California, Prophet first made his mark as the young guitarist in L.A.'s Green on Red, a forerunner of the Paisley Underground movement; however, Green on Red's attack was inspired more by American apple pie than psychedelics. After disbanding finally in 1992, Prophet began to focus all attention on the solo career he started with 1990's Brother Aldo (Fire). Prophet's devotion to roots music is for its sources, but he also sounds inspired by Bob Dylan's lyrics and Keith Richards and Eric Clapton's guitars; his voice bears a resemblance to Tom Petty's. He followed with Balinese Dancer in 1993 and Feast of Hearts in 1995. Prophet earned positive critical attention on these shores, but his greatest success came overseas. Throughout his solo career, he's worked with legends and inspirations from Bob Neuwirth to Jim Dickinson to Billy Swan and beat poet Hubert Huncke and most recently with Austin guitarist Calvin Russell. He maintained a friendship with legendary Memphis sessionman and songwriter Jim Dickinson, with whom Prophet collaborated on a live recording A Thousand Footprints in the Sand. The band he's used most consistently is Anders Rundblad (bass), Paul Revelli (drums), Max Butler (guitar) and Stephanie Finch on keyboards. Finch is Prophet's partner, and they've worked together since Brother Aldo. In 1997, Prophet came through with Homemade Blood (Cooking Vinyl), a live-in-the-studio set that brings home the talents of a mature guitarist, songwriter and singer. Three years later, he followed up with a Hightone collection of new original material, The Hurting Business, which helped show that he was still going strong. The album was a huge critical success, and he followed it up with another praised effort, 2002's No Other Love." - Denise Sullivan

Beginning in 1992, the Fort Baxter label began to release fabulous soundboard concerts, complete and unedited. "Just Prete
nd" was a magnificent start, and the follow up to it was "Walk A Mile in My Shoes." Although the disc is only 28 minutes l
ong and only contains ten songs, it is still a fantastic disc which highlights Elvis' January-February 1970 appearances at
the International Hotel. In my eyes, he never sounded better than during these shows, because his voice was full of passi
on and aggression, and unlike in 1969, he wasn't learning how to win over a Vegas crowd; he simply knew how to slay them.
For his first Vegas stint of 1970, Elvis brought back most of his original line-up (Bob Lanning replaced Ronnie Tutt on dr
ums) and he added more Memphis material to his act, as well as some recent covers and familiar older material. The materia
l on this disc is part of a dinner show recorded February 1st, and boy, Elvis is in breathtaking form!

It only took a year for this excellent release from Premier to finally arrive, but it was worth it. There are many things
I like about this cd; from the excellent sound and song selections to the supremely confident attitude of the performer. B
ut most particularly, you can still hear the voice of the twenty-one year old Elvis in certain passages.

The title says it all, " I'm a steamroller baby, I'm gonna roll all over you! " This is the last show from the longest and
quite possibly the best tour of Elvis' career. March of 1974 saw Elvis on the road from the 1st to the 20th, giving 110%
at each show, and seeming to love every minute of performing to an adoring audience. Whatever problems had plagued him in
1973 were left behind with the successful Stax recordings in December. Memphis had to wait five years for Elvis to play hi
s hometown, but he made up for it with the five shows he gave on the 16th, 17th, & 20th. Although he was no longer giving
the "totally insane" performances of 69 & 70, he was still very physical in his presentation and his voice had matured int
o an awesome richness that left nothing out of his reach. RCA released a highly edited and overdubbed recording of this sh
ow in the summer of 1974, but we had to wait until 1994 for the fine people at Ft. Baxter to give us the complete show. Th
e first half of this cd is from the mixing disk and the second half is from the master tape. The sound is excellent either
way.

What can be said of this concert except one word - Awesome! Elvis sounds great and the concert is Fantastic. This CD was r
ecorded at the Dinner show on the evening of February 5, 1973 at the Las Vegas Hilton. Elvis opened this engagement on Jan
26, and did two shows a night, one Dinner and one Midnight show till the 23 of Feb. What was a rather excellent opening s
how for Elvis later turned sour at the latter part of this engagement. Later during this engagement, the energy was lost f
rom the shows and Elvis had regained a lot of the weight he had lost in preparation for the Hawaii show. And if you read t
he bodyguard book "Elvis-What Happened", you'll know what took place in Elvis' hotel suite on February 19 (if this is real
ly an accurate account-who knows.

Here we have the 3rd release from the Luxor label, and this time they bring us the August 31, 1976 show. Again they prove
their knowledge how to remaster the tapes, and no doubt they are the best when it comes to remixing the tapes, but, it's t
oo bad that the concert is very boring. Elvis is not inspired and sounds very tired, there is some life in Mystery/tiger m
an train, but this is the only "highlight" of the show. As a bonus we have two songs from Johnson City, "Trying to get to
you", and Elvis first live version ever of "Hurt". If you want a great quality soundboard show like the "Guaranteed to blo
w your mind" & "My, it's been a long, long time", and don't care what or how Elvis sang, then this will be a nice add-on f
or your collection, if you're looking for a great show, then you can skip this one.

This CD is the first that the Fort Baxter label released in their "From the mastertapes"-series, and it's one hell of a st

mono, not stereo, every instrument, the backup-singers and, of course, Elvis is clearly heard and in balance.

This show is one of the more intriguing from the 1970's Presley tour catalogue, being the actual "return to Memphis" show
(as opposed to the official RCA release 'Elvis Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis'). How in the world could over thirteen y
ears pass between performances in his own hometown? It boggles the mind; certainly, Elvis would be ready to rock the house
in his adopted hometown.

This concert is recorded in Memphis, Tennessee, at the fifth of July 1976. It is the last concert Elvis ever performed in
his hometown, therefor suitably named "Goodbye Memphis". Apart from this concert, you also get a few tracks from Toledo in
April 1977 and as an extra bonus a couple of home-recorded "unplugged" songs. All this material gives good value for mone
y and almost every minute of the two CD's in this set is full of Elvis.

It seems that the soundboards from this period all are more or less top-notch. This most definitely goes for Still Rocking

he one you will find on Goodbye Memphis. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same people behind these two releases...

Review by Crister Berge
Caution: Explicit language in review and recordings
If this offends you please don't down load!
Released in 1999, CUT ME is a collection of 22 "X-rated" studio / live / rehearsal tracks that weren't suitable for offici
al release, because of rude language. They even squeezed in a poem, 'Ode To A Robin,' which has a surprise ending, and the
infamous "drug monologue" from closing night in Vegas, August 1974 (released in its entirety on Fort Baxter's DESERT STOR
M). Lots of "fuck" in all its different inflections and "motherfucker" is Elvis' favourite choice word of poetic spice. Th
e title is a paraphrase on the remark "There's blood running through my veins" that Elvis uttered in a 1962 interview. "Af
ter all, Elvis was only human." No shit?! Playing time is 74:29 and the packaging is appealing: it sports three great colo
r pictures of Elvis with fans from 1968, '69 and ? But: The editing between the songs is horrendous, there's a spelling er
ror in the track list and the liner notes MUST be written by someone whose second goddamned language is English!
It starts out with a good example of Elvis' sense of humour. He says: "Did-did you hear the little poem that I wrote?" Elv
is recites the words dead-serious, but the comical twist at the end breaks everybody up. It was taped by Elvis' girl frien
d Linda Thompson at her home. I laughed as Hell first time I heard it! 'Wings Of An Angel' is a rotten song, unknown to me
, jaded by poor sound, and very short: just over a minute. The line "the balls of a big hairy coon" is the reason why BMG
has not released it.
Since BMG has issued it, there are no swearwords in 'A Hundred Years From Now.' The profanity is to be found in Elvis' pre
-song comment: "There goes my fucking career, right down the drain." First "motherfucker" of the CD is in the uncut master
of 'Got My Mojo Working,' which runs for five minutes. From the same session, 'Muddy Water' is also five minutes, the dir
ty language here is just a mere "shit" at the end. All of the songs from 1970 are in excellent sound, by the way. 'Cindy,
Cindy' features an extensive guitar solo by James Burton. Elvis shouts "Fade this motherfucker!" at the end.
The Memphis sessions are represented with the well-known alternate take of 'Only The Strong Survive' where Elvis is reciti
n' a letter: "Listen, you little cocksucker..." From a '74 rehearsal comes yet another "motherfucker" as 'Promised Land' g
ets some poetic justice: "...the motherfucker's on the line".
In 'Hurt,' Elvis incorporates words like "goddammit", "shit", "cocksucker" and "motherfucker" to the lyrics during the rec
itation. The funny thing is that it's a complete take and not bad at all, 'cept for the swearing, of course. Audio is terr
ible, and if you've read Arjan Deleen's excellent interview with Ernst Jorgensen, the reason for this is that it's a fifth
generation reference copy. The original tape was allegedly destroyed by Felton Jarvis' wife, due to the vulgar (and tragi
c!) nature of the performance. And obviously, it is NOT "take 69"! Awful sound in 'Goin' Home.' Elvis struggles with the s
ong and after another failed take, says "Fuck the fever, man."
Four songs are taken from a 1970 rehearsal: 'Heart of Rome' gets the romantic treatment with lyric changes as "I'll take a
piss in ev'ry fountain." Funny? You be the judge. 'Memories' is a classic. While chewing gum, Elvis pants, imitates a cow
, a dog, a cat and even Burton's wah-wah guitar. Hilarious! BMG released the 5

1. Review by James Devereaux:
Whatever reason befitted Elvis to give so much to his new year's tour of 1976 still escapes me, nonetheless nothing can be
taken away from the king in this one of his most historic performances ever to be captured off of the soundboard. Unlike
most of the rest of the year, Elvis seems happy with what he is doing and in himself. His voice seems willing to provide t
he most spectacular acrobatics, and the crowd cannot help but scream in tandem with the shear adrenalin Elvis gives to the
performance and his musicians. One of the maddest performances you have ever heard. A wonderful listening experience with
every number!

Review by Sergio Luiz Fia Biston
Madison, the last bootleg label standing proud, deliveries the goods again. Moving Mobile comes with the traditional eye c
andy design that become the trademark of the label, with a great cover and rare pictures coupled with informative liner no
tes.
The show is a typical June 1975 show, which by no means is bad. As we are familiar, in this period Elvis seemed to be extr
emely happy and enjoying being on stage. The song list is well balanced and the songs are equally well treated.

Reworking
---------
I've a few doubts about the origin of the "Opening Theme".
The sound seemed a bit different to the rest of the show.
But maybe i'm wrong...
there are a lot of blanks in that recording. No music seemed to be missing, but i dec
ided to rework a bit
the sound to have a more continuous performance.
Here are the blanks that i've reworked :
- track 01 (between "Opening Theme" and "Blue Suede Shoes")
- track 06 (between "Heart Break Hotel" and the little speech at the end)
- track 10 (at the end of the "Monologue". Please note that the first blank after the
first minute is probably
a technical problem that occured with the mic of Elvis)
- track 14 (fades out at the end)
- track 15 (fades in at the start, fades out / in in the middle, fades out at the end
)
- track 16 (fades in at the start)
This is probably due to the fact that some generation of the master was edited into R
eel-To-Reel tapes
of around 16 minutes (each blank occur at that duration).
Or was is a cancelled project for an official live album (doubtful as RCA only record
ed 11 gigs
at the end of August) ?
About the blanks (very important) :
- track 06 : nothing is missing. You can hear the same "thank you" by Elvis then a fe
w microphone sounds
at the end and at the start of each fade. The only thing is that the audience is a bi
t different,
you can hear whistles and shouts in one not in the other.
- track 10 : nothing is missing. You can hear the same guitar sound at the end and at
the start of each fade.
The audience sound is here a bit different too (one whistle is more present on the fi
rst fade than the other
for example).
- tracks 14/15 : nothing is missing. You can hear clearly the same the whistles and g
uitar sound at the end
and the start of the two tracks.
- track 15 : nothing is missing in the middle of the "Monologue". The two parts match
perfectly.
- tracks 15/16 : nothing is missing. The two parts match perfectly.
Also i increased a bit the sound, and balanced it (right channel is low than the left
channel).
The "final" 19 tracks of the gig still match the insert.
The "missing" 47 seconds from the original timing of the disc are duplicated parts th
at were left out.

Las Vegas 1969 : Comeback
-------------------------
Some datas may be incorrect, please contact me if you see any error,
or if you can complete or add any relevant information
about that venue/period/gig/set/songs.
Thanks for your comprehension and help and sorry for the average English.
From 1961 to 1968, Elvis did not make any public performance. The "'68 Comeback Speci
al" done for NBC
was an huge success, and the first season at the Las Vegas International was quickly
sold out.
Elvis performed one opening show on July 31, 1969, then 56 (!!!) performances during
the next 28 days,
one dinner show and one midnight show each day for more than 1 hour each...
Nothing can be added to that. Simply amazing.
On the 57 gigs, 11 gigs were protaped by RCA, and a few ones were officially released
:
- "On Stage" (RCA 1985 & 1999 [remaster + bonus], CD) included songs from various sho
ws
- "In Person" (RCA 1985, CD) included songs from various shows
- "Collector's Gold" (RCA 1991, 2CDs boxset) included songs from various shows
- "Elvis Aaron Presley" (RCA 1998, 4CDs long box) included songs from various shows
- "Live In Las Vegas" (RCA 2001, 4CDs boxset) included the whole August 24, 1969 midn
ight show
- "Today, Tomorrow & Forever" (RCA 2002, 4CDs long box) included songs from the Augus
t 22, 1969 midnight show
- "Elvis At The International" (FTD 2002, CD digipak) included the whole August 23, 1
969 midnight show
- "All Shook Up" (FTD 2005, CD digipak) included the whole August 26, 1969 midnight s

Many fans have reviewed very closely those materials, please check the links below.
If you have one pressing to buy, the "Elvis At The International" of FTD is a must ha
ve (80 minutes !).
--------
The gig
--------
The CD claimed that this was the opening night of the 1969 Las Vegas season, but fans
were able to find
a more probable date (August 3, 1969 dinner show).
This is very enjoyable show, very powerful of the start of the season. Excellent spee
ches by Elvis.
The Fort Baxter CD, even with a few sound flaws, is an excellent release.
The original pressing is now hard to find, and tonns of repressings are on the market
.
If your inserts look not really sharp, and if the "SIAE" stamp seemed to be printed,
this is a repressing without a doubt.
That torrent may be a good alternative, as the sound was normalized.
It is also a good start for a more complete remastering.
Quality : 9.5 / 10
Again, you will find very positive reviews on the links below.
As usual, i do not advise to buy bootlegs, especially Elvis Presley live releases,
as many are really really crap (bad sound and/or performance, incomplete, edited...).
As "Follow That Dream" is releasing studio sessions and live concerts,
take a look on their website and on the various reviews done by fanatics.
You will be sure to find what you want.

What can you say about this release, well, it's a bootleg of bootlegs, there is no ne
w material here on this cd, but just a compilation of songs that contains humorous ou
ttakes and a cursing Elvis and other bad language from studio/live/rehearsals taken f
rom CD's like Hang Loose, Desert Storm, Brightest star, Lost on Tour and so on. On th
e back you can read a warning too that this cd contains explicit language, well, you
have been warned!!

i got this recently from another tracker and thought i might seed it over here as well. i only have little information about
the lineage, and as the seed has gone, i can't ask anyone at the other tracker. unfortunately i don't even remember the upl
oader's name but all the credits are his.
anyway, it's a very good show in 2 sets, and as i have only little upload capacity, i'll seed the 2 sets separately: after t
he first one's up, i'll start the second one. enjoy!
Probable source: SBD
Probable lineage: SBD > MR > CASS(?) > DAT > CDR
Quality: Excellent
Total running time: 108 minutes 28 sec
Editing: i corrected the track splitting here and there & smoothed out some gaps. no equalizing, normalization or noise redu
ction was applied.
Comments:
During the first 3 minutes the sound level is a bit high but gets corrected then.
