Eivind Aarset - Quasimodo, Berlin, Germany, Nov. 13, 2007 (2 discs)

Source: Dime post by 'fbauer' - thanks for this and agreement to post this remaster !!
http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=171112

audience recording OKM II R > A3 > Sony TCD100

Changes Made (Nero 7):
Phase re-alignment of 1.3msec to correct left balance offset
Cross mix channels (96:4)
Left channel reduction of 3-9% to centre stero image field
Fade out of 0.5sec to smooth abrupt applause cuts on d1tr01 and d1tr04
Removal or smoothing out of a number of glitches , mic bumps, etc

Quality: Worth an A+ now
-----------------------------

The original was a very good raw recording, but with a phasey sound and the stereo image
all in the extreme left quadrant. With the changes (above) we now have a very good stereo
image across the full both channels and an improved sound of all instruments, especially
fuller and louder bass, so...

...Please enjoy this great perfomance !!

AC/DC - Bon Scott Collection (4 discs)

The Bon Scott Collection: 3CD and DVD

Hello hello....

I thought about doing this set for quite some time and from start to finish took about 3 m
onths. I was going to upload it on Feb 19th<85>.to coincide with Bon Scott<92>s passing 27
years ago. However, to celebrate Bon<92>s contribution to music, you need to have the tor
rent not be in the process of downloading it. So here it is today<85>.so when you get it,
play it loud on Feb 19th!

I listened to each Pro recorded show that I had in my possession and selected the best ve
rsion from each show and completed this list. I then remastered, bit by bit, to bring out
the best in each song. Too much was done to list here...but have a listen to what you have
 and then listen to this.

A special thank you to <93>Hard2handell<94> as most of these were shared by him. I grabbed
them all and made this 3 Disc set. None of this is from MP3, nothing lossless. All from F
LAC originally torrented on DIMEADOZEN.

Here are some observations:
1. I was going to use <93>Dog Eat Dog<94> from 1978.04.30 Glasgow, but apparently tha
t was issued as a b-side so I had to use the only other PRO source, which was Columbus 197
8.09.10. Too bad as I preferred the Glasgow version.
2. I was going to use <93>TNT<94> and <93>Rocker<94> from 1977.10.27 Hippodrome, but
apparently that was released in Japan officially. So that was out. Too bad as <93>Rocker
<94> is great at this show<85>..like no other. I cannot find TNT on any other Pro source.
So I took 1979.12.03, which is not bad. The version of <93>Rocker<94> here is from Colches
ter University and the intro that states <93>Thank You Peter<85><94> is actually in refere
nce to the host of the show, Rock Goes To College (which is where Whole Lotta Rosie comes
from the Family Jewels DVD). The host was speaking and talking to the camera as the song
started and so Bon says <93>Thank you Peter<94>.
3. A couple songs from 1977.01.30 Triple J broadcast end abruptly, with a quick fadeo
ut. This was part of the broadcast apparently. However, since these versions are great, I
kept them in this torrent. Also, there is a small edit at the beginning of <93>The Jack
<94> as I removed the announcer warning about <93>strong language<94>. No joking. I then t
ook an inferior source for the same show and edited it back in, with no announcer. In addi
tion, this song is actually from two sources. I took the beginning of 1977.01.30 and splic
ed it with 1979.07.13 as the ending I thought was better. If you don<92>t like it, that
<92>s too bad<85>but I do. This Triple J broadcast is my favorite Bon show<85>along with
1979.11.02 and 1978.09.10.
4. All known Pro recorded shows were used to select these versions. However, there is
one Dallas show from 1977 that has not surfaced so I could not use it. Nothing in this t
orrent has been officially released to the best of my knowledge.
5. I did not do any artwork<85>but please someone do some<85>something awesome!
6. I included Rock Goes To College DVD also, minus the Whole Lotta Rosie, as stated e
arlier is available on the Family Jewels DVD.

Enjoy and long live Bon<85>!

Fantastic show with the band kickin' ass from the beginning

enjoy the show very much (listen to Bon screaming "I think
I marry you all!" aftervthe crowd sings its part).
This is definetly one of the best shows ever
and one of my favourite live recordings by AC/DC !

Solo Acoustic
Soundboard

I can't locate my information on this so I've no idea about lineage.
From my end we have:

CD-r > EAC > FlacFrontend [level 8/sba]

Here we have what is considered by some, me included, to be the best of the best in D
ave Alvin solo recordings.
Although the SBD v AUD debate still rages strong between people this one rises far ab
ove any rule on the matter.
With the sound of Dave solo being on the quite side you get the perfect amount of aud
ience response in the mic to
make you appreciate just how wonderful the crowd was.... and Dave has never been a be
tter performer than on
this night... and it's all "Storyteller" style. Lot's of Dave wisdom. Do not hesitate
to grab this one if you don't already have it.

Comments:
Great show from one of my favorite performers! ~91 minutes w/ ~48 m on
disc1 and ~43 on disc 2. Included are 5 photos from the show and
a scan of the ticket and Htfd Courant review. Love those modified NAK 700's!
There is about a 2.5 - 3 db difference in levels b/w L & R channels.
This is easily correctable with any number of audio editing products.

Dave Alvin & the Guilty Men - South Street Seaport, NYC, Jul. 14, 2006

Notes:

David Alvin and the Guilty Men
July 14 2006
South Street Seaport, New York City

Sony D7 DAT with some old Sony mike > Sound Forge, split using EAC

I never saw David Alvin before but Newsday had a very good preview article and I wor
k a block from the Seaport so I figured that I'd go. It's been so long since I've ta
ped a show that I checked the equipment the night before and discovered that my Soni
c Studio mikes had a buzz. I dug around and found an old one point stereo mike and p
ressed it into service. It worked much better than I would have guessed, in fact, it
sounds fine. However it didn't pick up the astonishing stereo that the sound guys p
ulled off. Individual organ notes were coming from different stacks.

I was impressed enough by the band that I bought two CDs after the show, then came h
ome and started downloading stuff from Dime.

I should describe the venue. The stage was in the middle of Pier 17 on the East Rive
r, which is home to a tourist trap called the South street Seaport. I'm being a bit
harsh here, there is actually a lot of interesting history in the area. There are no
seats; we just sat on the wooden pier for the opening act, the Cheatham County Line
. But no one sat for David Alvin. Directly behind the stage was a large boat that ro
cked slightly during the show. Off to the south is a huge old iron sailing ship. Beh
ind the audience is the FDR drive, the elevated road that heads up from the southern
tip of Manhattan (Battery Park) to the top of Manhattan. Quite picturesque.

The first song is a bit rough as things settled down, and I got a cell phone call wh
ich caused some interference. I have to remember to shut that thing off during shows
. Around the third or fourth song I moved away from a knowledgeable but loud guy, an
d ended up dead center about twenty feet back. Couldn't have picked a better spot to
 tape from. Enjoy.

No songlist I'm afraid since I don't know the songs well enough to attempt it.

Another great set by the King O' California.
Sound on this is 8 to 9.5/10
It is a bit guitar and vocal heavy because I was set up right near DA's stage monito
r...but: is that so wrong?
There is some crowd noise (alot of people having a great time there!) but isn't obtr
usive IMHO. Very cool Beat Farmers cover in honor of Country Dick and "Buddy Blue"

transfer: I can't remember. I transferred this a long time ago, like ten years ago, and it was
lightly circulated back then. I might have used a Zefiro ZA2, god forbid I may have used an E

The venue for this show was The Cotati Cabaret in Cotati, CA. It was a small club that held ab
out 300 people. Cotati is a small town located about an hour north of San Francisco.

Cotati is next to Sonoma State University, which was called Granola State University back in th
e hippie days. SSU is where the great recording of Old & In The Way with Ramblin' Jack Elliott
opening was made. There is a great poster of the O&ITW show, my copy of which is long gone.

more full set from the band. A real shame. Enjoy this one!
